Abstract

Community service research was conducted by students of Setia Budi University Surakarta, focusing on the Pharmacy for Society program in Tuban Village, Gondangrejo Sub-district, Karanganyar, Central Java. In its implementation, this program combines the principles of Education, Research, and Community Service, involving students as agents of change. The main objective of this program is to make a tangible contribution to the village community while broadening the students' knowledge and experience in the practical application of pharmacy in the community. This Real Work Lecture (Kuliah Kerja Nyata or KKN) involves students in various activities such as counseling on the dangers of gadget use in children, integrated health posts for toddlers and the elderly, teaching at Islamic boarding schools for children, and elderly gymnastics. Through these activities, students not only provide information about health and education to the community but also actively empower them to improve their well-being and quality of life. With an integrated approach between education, health services, and active participation in development, this program has the potential to create sustainable positive impacts for the local community. The results and discussions from the KKN activities indicate that through collaboration between students, supervising lecturers, and the community, various social and health issues can be better addressed. For example, the socialization on the dangers of gadget use in children helped parents understand its negative impacts and take appropriate preventive measures. Additionally, activities such as integrated health posts, mosque construction, and health counseling have provided direct benefits to the health and welfare of the community. Thus, the Pharmacy for Society program through KKN represents a concrete step towards realizing the vision of universities as institutions actively involved in community development.
