PENINGKATAN KESEHATAN BAYI BALITA DENGAN PIJAT BAYI PADA KADER POSYANDU MELATI KELURAHAN TASIKMADU KECAMATAN LOWOKWARU KOTA MALANG

Abstract

Baby massage used to stimulate sensory to increase growth and nerves of babies and nerve cells of baby's brain will form basis of thinking, feeling and learning. Problem found in Melati posyandu cadres is lack of them knowledge about baby massage can improve the health of baby-under five years and cadres don’t have skills to do that. Solution offered is baby massage training. The aim to increase cadre knowledge and skills regarding the importance of baby massage.

Population of Posyandu Melati cadres is 17 people and all of them are used as samples for baby massage training participants. Techniques used for baby massage training, namely: lectures, demonstrations, training, question and answer. Results obtained from community service are: attendance of participants, training program, materials and techniques, and participant satisfaction from baby massage training as a whole is to be good because it has 100% achievement rate. Demonstration of baby massage techniques can still to be good with 76% achievement rate. Increased baby massage knowledge from 18% of total participants who know to be 100%. As well as 100% baby massage skills, participants are willing to massage babies in baby – under five year, provide training in it techniques, and assist in it for parents of them in the Posyandu Melati.

Community service activities with a program to improve the health of baby-under five years with baby massage in Posyandu Melati run smoothly and well. The knowledge of the Melati Posyandu cadre increases because baby massage has many benefits and the posyandu cadre's it skills are increasing so the posyandu cadres can share it knowledge to the parents of Posyandu Melati baby–under five years
