Redesigning Mountain Jackets Using the Quality Function Deployment (QFD) Method

<p>Mountain climbing is an outdoor activity carried out by the Nature Lovers Student Group (MAPALA) as a sporting hobby. One of the equipment that must be brought by climbers is a mountain jacket. The jacket functions to protect the body from strong winds and cold temperatures (00 C). In the market, the most popular jacket demand is a mountain jacket that has a head cover and is splash-proof or waterproof. However, the mountain jacket is still considered less suitable for the needs of mountain climbers, so it is necessary to develop a mountain jacket according to the needs. The purpose of this study is to redesign a mountain jacket according to the needs of climbers, such as a mountain jacket that can protect the face from rain and is not dazzled by sunlight, a comfortable jacket to wear in hot and cold weather, a flexible jacket that can be folded and multi-functional. The method used in this study is Quality Function Deployment where the product planning and development process is structured and can determine the desires and needs of customers to determine product specifications.. The results of this study in the form of a redesign of a mountain jacket according to the priority of consumer desires are that it has a head cover, is not hot or cold when worn. A flexible jacket can be folded or packable and can function as a sleeping bag.</p>

Comparative Analysis of Forecasting Methods on Water Production in PDAM XYZ

<p>Good production planning can meet the demand and availability of raw materials, as well as proper production planning and scheduling, production control, inventory control, and evaluation. PDAM XYZ produces clean water for the Banyumas Regency area. Water demand at PDAM XYZ is starting to exceed the production capacity limit, so a capacity addition plan is needed to meet the customer's clean water demand. The addition of capacity can be calculated by calculating demand forecasting. Thus, this study aims to determine the best forecasting method for making water demand forecasting calculations at PDAM XYZ and the estimated amount of water demand at PDAM XYZ in the next five years. The forecasting methods used are least square and regression. The accuracy values compared are MAD, MSE, RMSE, MAPE, and Tracking signal. The results of the comparison state that the regression method is better with a MAD value of 129938.4, MSE of 28536740000, RMSE of 168928.2, and MAPE of 0.05. So, in planning the addition of production capacity, the regression method can be used to forecast calculations as a reference for determining the additional production capacity. The forecasting results using the regression method show a value of 4,352,051 m3. Based on these results, it is expected that PDAM XYZ will be able to map the amount of clean water demand so that customer water needs can be met.</p>

The Analysis of Cushion Product Quality Control at PT. X Using Fuzzy FMEA Method

<p>PT. X is one of the companies engaged in the manufacturing industry, producing rubber part components for use in various manufacturing industries. PT. X records a high number of defective products caused by the suboptimal production processes occurring within the company. One of the products produced at PT. X is the Cushion product, which has become one of the products with the highest number of defects and, of course, causes a deficit for PT. ABC. The purpose of this research is to identify the failure risks occurring in the Cushion product, so that improvements can be made to reduce the defective products generated during the production process. The method often used to help identify the causes of product defects is by using the Fuzzy Failure Mode Effect Analysis (Fuzzy FMEA) method. Fuzzy FMEA has advantages compared to the traditional FMEA method, which allows for a combination and result of RPN values that are less accurate. Based on the FRPN calculation results, the highest value was obtained for the type of failure factor of a broken or abnormal machine, then the repair process was carried out using a repair priority scale that corresponds to the order of failure factors with the highest risk level.</p>

Simulation of the Take Away Service Queue System at a Tea Beverage Stall

<p>An efficient queuing system plays a crucial role in improving service quality and customer satisfaction. Inefficiencies in the queuing system of food and beverage businesses can lead to long lines and decreased customer satisfaction due to prolonged waiting times for ordering. Therefore, addressing queue inefficiencies requires improvements in queuing rules, facilities, or resources. This study investigates inefficiencies in the take-away service queuing system at a tea beverage outlet in a shopping mall in Bali, which results in long waiting times and customer dissatisfaction, especially during peak hours. The objective of this research is to analyze the existing queuing system, identify key bottlenecks, and propose improvements to enhance service efficiency. The method used is system simulation with ProModel, where data is collected through direct observation and time measurements at various service stages. The simulation results indicate that the bottleneck occurs at the cashier counter, causing the average customer waiting time to reach 1,855 seconds. The outlet is only able to serve 71.2% of the total potential customers within three hours. Adding one more cashier counter successfully increased the number of customers served from 88 to 156 within three hours, reduced the average waiting time to 1,340 seconds, and improved processing capacity to 95.31%. In conclusion, the proposed improvements in this study can significantly enhance the efficiency of the queuing system and customer satisfaction at the tea beverage outlet.</p>

Modeling Pre-Launch New Product Demand Forecasting using Bass Diffusion in Creative Industry

<p>Micro, Small, and Medium Industries (IMKM) necessitate significant focus due to their economic contributions. In Indonesia, the creative industry, exhibits diverse and complex product innovations and variations, alongside a heightened risk of market failure. A market forecasting prediction model is essential prior to the product launch. However, this task becomes challenging when sales data is insufficient. A forecasting model applicable to the pre-launch stage of a new product is the Bass diffusion model, which relies on the optimization of model parameters. This study seeks to model the forecasting of new product demand prior to launch using the Bass diffusion model, specifically for creative industry products, and to assess the adoption pattern of these products within IMKM. The study identified a bass diffusion model applicable to the creative industry through an analysis of fifteen batik products, determining the optimal p, q, and m parameters based on the minimal error value. This study evaluates the adoption characteristics of IMKM batik products, noting similarities to the sales patterns of computer products and a product life cycle ranging from twelve to thirty-six months. This study identifies the parameter values for creative industry products, with an average p parameter of 0.0336, a q parameter of 0.3770, and a m parameter of 497.27. The long dress, as a category of women's fashion, exhibits the longest product life cycle, significant market potential, and a rapid diffusion rate, characterized by an average p parameter of 0.0198, a q parameter of 0.3739, and a m parameter of 721.</p>

Analysis of Customer Journey Map to Improve Customer Experience in Real Estate Marketplace

<p>The development of innovation in the property sector has driven the emergence of various property technology startups. A total of 32 startups have been established, 24% of which operate as marketplaces. One of the main challenges faced by property or real estate marketplaces is enhancing customer experience (CX), which plays a crucial role in the complex process of property transactions. This study aims to analyze the customer journey map (CJM) of a real estate marketplace startup, referred to as PT X. The suboptimal CX processes at PT X have led to a low transaction rate. This research comprises four main stages: data collection and processing, customer journey mapping, pain point analysis using Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA), and the development of improvement recommendations through a service blueprint. The study identifies two major pain points affecting CX: the presence of false or irrelevant information due to the absence of an automated data verification system, and a search algorithm that does not prioritize listings with complete information. The Risk Priority Numbers (RPN) for these pain points are 512 and 448, respectively. Based on the analysis, the proposed recommendations include developing an automated verification system to ensure data validity and optimizing the search algorithm to prioritize listings with high-quality information. The implementation of these recommendations is expected to address the issues, enhance PT X's platform competitiveness, and provide a better user experience in meeting property needs.</p>

Measuring the Effectiveness of Multiline Machines Using the Overall Equipment Effectiveness Method at PT. MNO

<p><em>The food and beverage industry in Indonesia, especially powdered beverages, continues to grow rapidly along with increasing consumer demand for practical products with long shelf life. PT. MNO, as one of the companies in this field, faces challenges in maintaining the efficiency and productivity of its production machines. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of multiline packaging machines using the Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) method to identify factors that affect machine performance and provide recommendations for improvement. OEE is measured based on three main factors, namely availability rate, performance rate, and quality rate. Observations were made for 17 days on machines 11 and 12 in multiline room 4, with three different operational shifts, namely morning, afternoon, and night shifts. The results showed that the average OEE value of machine 11 was 94% and machine 12 was 88.9%, which met the ideal OEE standard of >85%. However, the performance rate of machine 12 was still below the standard of 92.1%, mainly due to high downtime, such as machine setup and label changes. Analysis using a fishbone diagram identifies the causes of low machine performance from the aspects of humans, machines, methods, and raw materials. Some of the main factors that affect machine performance include unstable machine settings, inappropriate sealer temperatures, and less than optimal operator skills. Recommendations for improvement include increasing routine machine maintenance, operator training to improve skills in setting and troubleshooting, and setting the sealer temperature more appropriately according to the characteristics of the label.</em></p>

Feasibility Analysis of Investment in the Development of Alternative Utilization Facilities for Raw Materials and Fuels at PT. X

<p><em>Indonesia's manufacturing sector has grown, which affects the amount of waste produced. Waste must be managed by the companies that generate it; if they are unable to do so, the waste may be turned over to a third party. PT. X is a business that works in manufacturing, particularly in the cement sector. PT. X is dedicated to producing fuel, raw materials, and energy sources that are efficient in its production process. In order to meet the company's long-term plan goal of increasing the substitution of energy sources, raw materials, and fuel, facilities for using waste as raw materials and alternative raw materials must be built. The purpose of this study is to obtain the results of a feasibility study on the investment in the construction of these facilities. The data used in this study are primary data in the form of waste potential, company technical data, investment data, operational data and interviews as secondary data. The methods used in this study are Net Present Value (NPV), Payback Period (PP), and Internal Rate Of Return (IRR). The results of this study obtained a payback period value of 5 years 7 months, an NPV of 6,784,925,409 (NPV > 0), and an IRR of 15.85% so that the investment is feasible to continue.</em></p>

Analysis of The Effect of Service Quality, Food Quality, Value/Price on Customer Satisfaction

<p>Developments in the food and beverage sector are increasingly rapid; coffee shop businesses will experience an increase of 60.5% in 2022. Business actors will always strive for the best service for their customers. So, stakeholders must know the relationship between the services provided so that customers are satisfied. The purpose of this study was to see the magnitude of the relationship between service quality, presentation quality, value/price to customer satisfaction at Djamoean Café Pamekasan. The method used this time is structural equation modeling (SEM) with SmartPLS. This research shows that service quality has an AVE value <0.70, meaning that the service quality variable is not included in further analysis, the VIF value for all latent variables is below the threshold of 5, so there is no multicollinearity problem in the structural model. The first hypothesis looks for a positive influence of service quality on consumer satisfaction. This test shows that service quality has a positive effect on consumer satisfaction with a P value <0.05. The service quality reliability test showed that the results were unreliable, so service quality had no significant effect, so the first hypothesis was rejected. Serving quality has a positive influence on consumer satisfaction. The test results show that serving quality has a positive influence on consumer satisfaction with a P-value <0.05. So that hypothesis number two can be accepted. Value/price shows P-value> 0.05, then value/price does not have a positive effect on customer satisfaction. So that hypothesis number three is rejected. The author advises Djamoean Cafe Pamekasan to always maintain the quality of taste and hygiene of food and drinks, and provide sufficient serving portions to always provide customer satisfaction.</p>
