Edukasi Penggunaan Tablet Ferro Sulfat Sebagai Terapi Preventif Penyakit Anemia pada Siswi Sekolah Menengah Atas di Kabupaten Sragen

Abstract

Anemia is a public health problem worldwide. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), cases of anemia occur in 24.8% of the population and it is estimated that around 50-80% of anemia is caused by iron deficiency. One of the anemia that can be prevented is anemia that is triggered by blood loss during menstruation. This condition can be prevented by taking Ferro sulfate tablets. The purpose of this community service activity is to provide education about the risks of anemia and the use of ferrous sulfate tablets as preventive therapy for high school students in Sragen Regency. This is a descriptive community service with a cross sectional method, using an instrument in the form of a questionnaire with the pre-test and post-test. The respondents in this community service were students of SMA N 2 Sragen. The results of the questionnaire will be analyzed with SPSS software to determine the effect of giving education on the use of ferrous sulfate tablets to high school students and will be used in drawing conclusions. The results showed that based on the posttest on 100 students at SMA N 2 Sragen, there was an increase in knowledge of the students regarding anemia and the use of Ferro sulfate tablets after the counseling was carried out. This is shown from the results of statistical tests using the Chi-Square method with the results P <0.005, which means that there is an effect of webinar activities on knowledge of preventing anemia and using Fe tablets correctly
