Student Engagement through the KKN Program in Jatikuwung Village, Karanganyar
Abstract
Desa Jatikuwung, located in Karanganyar Regency, Central Java, serves as the focal point for the Community Service Learning (KKN) program of Universitas Setia Budi Surakarta. Covering an administrative area of approximately 409.6035 hectares, the village is divided into several hamlets with various facilities such as elementary schools, kindergartens, and integrated health posts. KKN activities are carried out in the hamlet of Wonosari, focusing on health education, environmental awareness, economic empowerment, and educational support to enhance community welfare. The KKN program in Desa Jatikuwung engages students from Universitas Setia Budi in various activities, including health awareness campaigns, environmental initiatives, and economic mentoring. The success of this program relies heavily on active community participation, teamwork, and support from field supervisors. Through this collaboration, the KKN program not only provides practical benefits in the form of knowledge and skills to the community but also strengthens social bonds and cooperation among all stakeholders involved. Overall, the KKN program in Desa Jatikuwung serves as more than just a community service initiative; it serves as a platform to reinforce community ties and mobilize collective action towards village development. By focusing on various aspects of socio-economic development and community empowerment, the program creates a platform for students to significantly contribute to improving welfare and enhancing local capacity.
