PELATIHAN REGULASI EMOSI UNTUK MENURUNKAN STRES AKADEMIK PADA MAHASISWA
Abstract
This study aims to examine the effectiveness of emotion regulation training in reducing academic stress in university students. This quantitative study used a nonrandomised control group pretest-posttest experimental design, 32 students with moderate to high stress levels were divided into experimental and control groups. Data were collected using the academic stress scale (α = 0.891) and Subject Matter Expert (SME) validity assessment sheets for the training module and scale. Mann-Whitney U analysis showed a significant difference in academic stress reduction between the experimental and control groups (z = -2.218, p < 0.05). Wilcoxon T analysis also showed a significant reduction in stress in the experimental group before and after the training (z = -2.143, p < 0.05). Qualitative data from subjects' sharing, observations, worksheets, and evaluations during the training supported these findings, showing an improvement in emotion regulation skills. The study concluded that emotion regulation training is effective in reducing students' academic stress. The programme is recommended as an intervention strategy to support students' academic achievement and mental health.
